Pulsar LUX Portable Vaporizer
The Pulsar LUX, or any of the re-branded versions are what I would consider a “Budget” vaporizer. This is a vaporizer for those just getting into vaporizing but don’t want to spend several hundred dollars before the see if they even like vaporizing. The Pulsar falls nicely into that category.
Lets see what comes with the Pulsar LUX. Included with the Pulsar Lux:
- 1x Pulsar LUX vaporizer
- 1x micro USB cord
- 1x USB wall adapter
- 1x tamp/dab tool
- 5x mouthpiece tips
- 1x user manual
The unit itself is made well enough, the cost of the unit is low, and the 1 button operation makes it very easy to use for beginners.
To turn the unit on or off push the button 5 times quickly. To cycle the temperatures just hold the same button down.
The temperatures are:
- low 360F – red
- med 380F – green
- high 420 – purple
The button will be red while the unit heats up and turn green when it has reached temperature. Very simple to use.
The unit takes about 30 seconds to heat up to temperature then only a few seconds to go to the next higher temperature.
The unit does also have a 10 minute auto shut off as well.
The vaporizer is of average quality. It is not extremely cheaply built, nor is it built like a tank.
I would say the same about the rest of the unit as well. The taste is average as well as the vapor, however the vapor does increase a bit as you use it.
The mouth piece has the same issues as the pinnacle and the Astra. They don’t like to stay on. This is a minor issue for a budget vaporizer but I thought I should mention it.I was not overly impressed with the Pulsar but I had to take a step back for a second. This is a budget vaporizer. I am comparing it to every vaporizer I have used which is not fair at all. When I review the Pulsar as an entry level vaporizer I think it is definitely worth looking into.
What I like about the Pulsar.
First is the size and feel. It is very small and has a nice grippy feel to it. The one button does all is also nice for beginners, it keeps it simple. I also like the temperature settings they chose for the unit. The Pulsar does extract well on low and medium and the ABV is nice and brown with no hints of combustion. The size of the chamber is good for the size of the unit. The micro USB charging is always nice to have.
Things I don’t like about the Pulsar.
First off the mouth piece. It is a little more secure than the pinnacle, but not much. I would think one of these companies would figure out a better way to keep them attached. The taste. The taste is average at best. It may very well improve the more you use it, but I won’t be using the Pulsar in my rotation so I can not say. The vapor is wispy at first and very harsh on the throat. The vapor does start to improve as you vape, but the throat irritation does not. Maybe it’s just me. When you plug the micro USB cable in it is as if you can feel everything in the unit shift as you push in the plug……just feels weird.
So all in all for an entry level vape it should be sufficient for most of the masses. The Pulsar does do its job. It is much better than combusting IMPO. The unit has a price of $100 or less, so it is an affordable option for those looking to start vaporizing.
I would probably recommend this unit to a newbie wanting to get their feet wet. It is not the best. It is not the worsrt. It is a budget vaporizer. I would rate the Pulsar a 3 out of 5 stars.
Please remember these are all my personal opinions. My goal is to try to get you the vaporizer that best suits your needs and lifestyle.
Thank you for taking the time to read my review of the Pulsar LUX.
